Sony Xperia P Review

Sony Xperia P Review

The Sony Xperia P emerged out as a mid-range handset regarding its specs and size but it comes to compete its rivals.Let see whether Sony Xperia P prosper or its rivals cast a dark shadow on Sony’s mobile ambitions.

Sony Xperia P design has not attracted its users too much because of its straighten edges and not really comfortable to hold. Its design is almost the same as Xperia S so you should not feel hesitation in displaying out which you will surely do.It has a smaller frame and 122 x 59.5 x 10.5mm dimensions makes it easy to hold. The plastic of Xperia S makes it free of dust and easy to clean. Its silver color model gives an exceptional look and its build quality is better than Xperia S.When we move towards its layout, there are  back, home and menu buttons at the bottom. There are  micro HDMI and Micro-USB ports on the left side of set and on the right downside there are the power/standby button, volume rocker and dedicated camera button.

The Xperia P comes with the extensive touchscreen of 4 inches and having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Its very high resolution when we compare it with its size.Due to which everything looks clear and fine and need not see things by zooming again and again. Its brightness is adjustable according to the ambient light but there is a yellow hue in its brightness due to which white looks yellow and yellow looks green that’s discouraging.Due to its reflective and bright display it still have the ability to show everything clear in bright sunshine.Equipped with an Ericsson NovaStor U8500 1GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM plus 16GB of internal memory.Despite the absence of quad core processor,it still has the ability to run fast for everyday operations. There is no microSD card so you don’t have the option to expand the memory.

Sony Xperia P unlocks and mute by just a single swipe unlike its rivals that need some shortcut buttons to perform such actions. But there is a shortcut for the camera by just pressing the dedicated button. Its core functions like Google services runs smoothly. Its keyboard is good and if you want to enhance its flexibility you need to install Swiftkey X . Browsers support Flash videos and offer eight tabs for exploring the internet.

It has a front facing camera for video but most of the emphasis laid on rear 8-megapixel camera having LED Flash. It has a range of focusing modes with multi-point focusing and there is also an option of touch focusing as we use on most of the smartphones. But overall its camera result is very much satisfying .It offers a full HD video with nice focusing options.

Since its the Sony product so it comes with some pre-installed  with Sony services like Music and Video Unlimited. Its video streaming is exceptionally fast. When we talk about its battery power is not really good. Its 1305mAh battery can run just up to late afternoon but you have to keep charger in hand.

Overall the Sony Xperia P has some goods and bads also. Its core hardware is reasonably powerful and no complaints in that respect.Launching on Gingerbread letdown Android fans and some of the Sony designs also because of the disappointing user interface. An update to Android 4 here and the choice application of, erm, apps from Google Play and the Sony Xperia P starts to feel much more appealing. It could perform much better than this.
